Primary Purpose:
To provide assistance to the Master Plumber in carrying out the repair, replacement, and preventive maintenance of all plumbing equipment and or systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Proper certification to inspect and maintain back flow devices.
Minimum Experience: 5 years in commercial-industrial trade
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Must be knowledgeable of fundamental principals of plumbing practices and plumbing codes
Must be able to utilize gas and back flow testing equipment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Receive and complete work orders as assigned
2. Maintain existing plumbing equipment or systems and install new as needed
3. Assist plumbing supervisor in keeping records and reports
4. Maintain all plumbing work areas, tools and equipment in a clean and neat condition
5. Inform supervisor of major plumbing repair/replacement needs of plumbing equipment or systems
6. Attend schools, seminars, and etc. to improve job knowledge and maintain license
7. Assist co-workers in performances of their duties or in their absence
8. Assist in gas testing
9. Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to perform any additional tasks as
assigned by the Supervisor
EQUIPMENT USED:
Small hand tools, drills, testing instruments, sewer machine, tractor, and other associated tools of the plumbing trade.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Demands:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting - over 45 pounds. Responsibilities of the position
can cause and require irregular work hours.
Environment:
Work outside and inside: exposure to hot and cold temperatures; work with high temperature and low temperature work in confined space; work in wet or possibly toxic areas, work in elevated positions.
