Our client is a self-performing general contractor with teams of highly skilled craftsmen employed in the most high-demand trades for federal construction and maintenance. Specializing in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing. an experienced Welder to join our team for federal and commercial projects in the Tampa, FL area.

Strategic Growth Partners provides both operations & strategic support to tribal 8(a) & commercial organizations. Our client is seeking a qualified Journeyman Plumber with Underground (UG) experience to support one of our growing client's team supporting a project at the Tampa Veteran’s Affairs facility.

Clearance: No DoD clearances are required, but a background check for facility access is required.

Workplace Type: Onsite

Compensation: $42.54 - $45.00 per hour.

The Journeyman Plumber with Underground (UG) experience is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining both above ground and underground plumbing systems for commercial and/or residential projects. This role requires specialized skills in underground water, sewer, and drainage installations, as well as compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

· Install and repair underground water lines, sewer lines, storm drains, and related systems.

· Excavate, trench, backfill, and prepare sites for plumbing installation in compliance with OSHA standards.

· Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications for underground and above-ground plumbing work.

· Lay out, cut, thread, and assemble pipes according to job requirements.

· Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with local plumbing codes.

· Collaborate with contractors, operators, and other trades to coordinate underground installation activities.

· Safely operate and work around heavy equipment such as excavators and trenchers.

· Perform leak detection, pressure testing, and system troubleshooting.

· Maintain a clean and organized work site.

· Train and mentor apprentices and laborers.

Qualifications:

· Valid Journeyman Plumber license/certification.

· Proven experience in both general plumbing and underground systems installation.

· Strong understanding of underground utility installation procedures and safety requirements.

· Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics.

· Proficiency with plumbing tools, pipe-fitting equipment, and excavation safety practices.

· Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in trenches, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

· Backflow prevention certification.

· Confined space certification.

· Experience with large-scale commercial underground plumbing projects.

· Basic equipment operation skills for trenching and excavation.

Work Environment:

· Outdoor job sites include excavation areas, construction zones, and existing structures.

· Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and physical hazards.

· PPE required at all times.
