The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $33.22-51.49/hour. New hires are typically brought into the organization with a starting pay between $40-45/hour, based on experience and education. Location & Schedule 

This position is based primarily at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 18300 W Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465, where you can expect to work approximately 70% of the time. The remaining 30% of your time will be spent at the Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, CO 80216.

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is a fully on-site position, with work performed at the assigned venue based on operational needs.

About Denver Arts & Venues

Denver Arts & Venues is an agency of the City and County of Denver that operates a special revenue fund by generating revenue through operation of event and entertainment venues and then invests that revenue in venue improvements and maintenance, arts programs, community grants, and cultural amenities for Denver’s residents.

Venues in Denver Arts & Venues portfolio include the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the country’s largest performing arts center under one roof, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, historic Denver Coliseum, recently refurbished McNichols Civic Center Building, and the state-of-the art Colorado Convention Center.  Through the division of Cultural Affairs, Arts & Venues administers the City’s 1% for public art program and reinvests a portion of its surplus revenue into cultural and arts programs such as the Five Points Jazz Festival, Urban Arts Fund, Safe Creative Spaces Fund, PS You Are Here and McNichols Cultural Partner programs.

Denver Arts and Venues is seeking a Plumber II to join our team. 

In this role, duties will include:

• Reads and interprets blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts

•  Performs preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance to agency or department standards and code requirements

•  Installs or alters new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing or remodeling according to diagram specifications and code requirements

•  Responds to plumbing service or trouble calls, troubleshoots and provides problem resolution

•  Inspects, maintains and repairs various types of fire protection systems

•  Maintains, tests, and installs devices for the prevention of backflow, back siphonage or cross connection

•  Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, written, or verbal instructions

• Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports

•  Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs

• Ability to work independently and as a team

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

• Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience as a journey level plumber.

• Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.

• Requires a valid Journey Plumber's License issued by the State of Colorado at the time of application.

• Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at completion of probation.

• Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
