The Plumber III is responsible for providing support to all Dollywood Company Properties through the installation, modification, trouble shooting and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems to comply with Southern Building Code, OSHA Safety Regulations, and applicable industry standards as well as with Company policies and procedures.  All of this will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

 

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations
  • Installs new plumbing systems or repair and maintain existing systems, such as water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, filtration systems and service lines and other plumbing systems
  • Determines water supply networks and waste drainage systems
  • Designs basic plumbing, sewer and storm water systems in accordance with local, state and federal standards
  • Evaluates different options for plumbing systems and solutions
  • Obtains proper permits as required by law to carry out plumbing work on construction or remodeling projects
  • Coordinates with project manager on installation
  • Ensures systems meet all standards of building codes and safety
  • Installs underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems
  • Installs and maintains air conditioning equipment, steam, and hot water heating systems, and sprinkler systems; renews pipes, valves, and fittings on pumps
  • Installs other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim
  • Cleans out drains and obstructions in waste and sewage pipes as well as roof drains
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance work as required
  • Coordinates work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments
  • Trains and directs the work of other classified staff in the area
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining project permits, including sewer and wastewater permits
  • Responsible for managing annual budgets and completing related tasks within allotted time
  • Documents repairs or work order request forms and initiate material forms
  • Determines materials needed for most frequently occurring repair work, prepares requisitions, and monitors inventory
  • Maintains records on equipment status and work completed and parts used
  • Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, Company policies and procedures, applicable regulations, and industry standards
  • Performs PIC (300) Duty as needed to provide proper support to the park

    Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time

 

      Education and Experience Required  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible plumbing repair and maintenance experience; OR, completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program in plumbing repair and maintenance AND three (3) years of plumbing repair and maintenance experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Knowledge of all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Must have a valid plumber's license
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto liability insurance for use of Company vehicles
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must successfully complete a post-employment offer background check and drug screen. If already employed by Dollywood must be in good standing with current team
  • Certification in backflow and cross connection devices is preferred at time of hire, otherwise must be acquired within 12 months of hire date
  • Prior relevant supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects ahead of schedule, fostering open communication and mutual support to achieve shared goals
  • Able to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 50 lbs) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 100 lbs with assistance)
  • Able to work at heights up to and in excess of 150ft
  • Able to endure approved exposure levels to various chemicals found in cleaning solvents, adhesives, paints, and lubricants
  • Able to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrenches, shovel, etc.
  • Able to provide project estimates

 

Physical Requirements | Working Conditions 

  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting 
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours 
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions 
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat 
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods.
