Plumbing Apprentice
1-800-Plumber + AirWe are seeking a motivated Plumbing Apprentice with approximately 1 year of experience in new home construction to join our residential plumbing team. The ideal candidate is punctual, mechanically inclined, and possesses a basic understanding of plumbing layouts and systems. You’ll work under the guidance of a licensed plumber to install, test, and repair water and drainage systems in new residential builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman or lead plumbers with installation of plumbing systems in new homes.
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret basic plumbing blueprints, floor plans, and layout drawings.
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are organized and ready for each job.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times.
- Follow all company, safety, and building code standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors.
- Arrive on time for all shifts and maintain reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of plumbing experience, preferably in new home construction.
- Basic knowledge of residential plumbing systems and layouts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work in various environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be organized, punctual, and willing to learn from senior plumbers.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using plumbing tools and equipment (pipe cutters, wrenches, torches, etc.).
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
