As our Plumbing Foreman, you'll be the driving force behind our field operations. You'll lead a dedicated team of plumbers, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This isn't just a supervisory role; you'll be actively involved in the work, demonstrating best practices, and ensuring your team has everything they need to succeed. Your deep knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and codes will be paramount to your success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Your Crew: Take charge by clearly communicating instructions from supervisors, assigning immediate tasks, and getting work started efficiently.
- Set the Pace: Work hands-on with your team, setting the standard for quality and productivity, and demonstrating proper work methods.
- Ensure Readiness: Make sure your team has all the necessary plans, blueprints, materials, and tools, and that stock is obtained promptly from supply locations.
- Problem Solve: Proactively seek out information or decisions from supervisors when challenges arise during a project.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures, policies, written instructions, and technical orders, and confidently answer questions from your team.
- Optimize Workflow: Ensure there's enough work to keep everyone in your crew busy and productive.
- Maintain Quality Control: Consistently check work in progress and upon completion meets supervisor instructions regarding work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- Drive Accountability: Guide your team to follow instructions and meet project deadlines.
- Champion Safety: Ensure all safety and housekeeping rules are strictly followed on site.
- Report Progress: Provide clear and concise updates to superintendents and project managers on the status and progress of work, as well as any causes of delays.
- Provide Insights: Answer supervisor questions regarding overall work operations and any challenges encountered.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing trade.
- Technical Mastery:
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and codes.
- Comprehensive understanding of other major craft blueprints.
- In-depth knowledge of all plumbing systems.
- Exceptional Leadership:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with employees and clients professionally.
