The Electrical and Plumbing Trades Manager leads residential service operations, ensuring safe, high-quality work while developing technicians to deliver excellent customer experiences. This role drives revenue growth by coaching technicians on in-home communication, solution presentation, and service-based sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily residential electrical and plumbing service operations, including scheduling, dispatch, and job completion.
- Lead, coach, and develop technicians to improve performance, customer satisfaction, and retention.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards, codes, and company quality expectations.
- Monitor KPIs (average ticket, conversion rates, callbacks) and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct ride-alongs and field observations to reinforce service and sales behaviors.
- Design and deliver sales training focused on educating customers, identifying needs, and presenting repair/replacement options (no direct selling responsibility).
- Manage inventory, materials, and vendor relationships.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of field staff.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in residential electrical/plumbing service; 2+ years in leadership.
- Strong knowledge of residential systems and service workflows.
- Experience coaching technicians on customer interaction and sales fundamentals.
- Relevant licensing as required by state.
- Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills.
