Journeyman Plumber

This is a full-time, direct placement for H&G Systems

Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (nights and weekends as required)

Position Summary:
H&G Systems is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team. This is a manual labor position at the journeyman level, involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working independently, performing skilled plumbing tasks related to the upkeep and servicing of various fixtures and equipment. You will be responsible for routine service and repair work, as well as performing installations according to industry standards and local codes.

Work Schedule:
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (with occasional nights and weekends required depending on service needs).

Reports To: Service Manager

Primary Job Functions:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating systems in commercial properties.
• Independently carry out skilled plumbing tasks including servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of fixtures and equipment.
• Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and service work efficiently and with attention to detail.
• Diagnose plumbing issues and recommend solutions to improve performance or prevent future issues.
• Work with other contractors and team members to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and service provided.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Represent the company positively to clients, contractors, and other trades.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of commercial service and installation experience.
• Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program within the last 4-5 years.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent finger and manual dexterity for handling pipes and plumbing fixtures.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Extensive knowledge of standard tools, methods, and materials used in the plumbing trade.
• Familiarity with the hazards and safety precautions associated with plumbing work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while completing tasks on schedule.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and offer effective solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience in commercial and industrial plumbing environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of advanced plumbing systems such as backflow prevention and water treatment systems.
• Experience in mentoring and training junior plumbing staff. A combined five years' experience servicing commercial and residential HVAC units
