Job Overview
This position performs plumbing service and repairs, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Installs various plumbing fixtures and systems according to specifications using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Inspects, examines, and tests installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods to ensure safety and sanitation of work areas.
- Modifies, cleans, and maintains pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment using hand or power tools.
- Repairs valves, fixtures, water, and sewer lines to ensure the proper function of all types of plumbing systems.
- Maintains or repairs plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains.
- Inspects work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
- Troubleshoots plumbing problems in water supply, sewer, and pump station systems.
- Responds to plumbing failures and plumbing emergencies and makes repair.
- Prepares component lists of necessary parts to complete job assignments.
- Practices good physical work methods, utilizes good work habits, and meets established production standards.
- Uses standard methods, practices, supplies, tools, and equipment to complete tasks.
- Wears proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and works in a safe work environment at all times.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and ensures a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.
Qualifications
- One year of varied experience as a journey level plumber.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.
Working Conditions
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk that require following basic safety precautions.
- Expose to dust, dirt, fumes, chemicals, and unpleasant odors.
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Moves objects at least 75 pounds.
- Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
