Department Details

We're looking for a Plumber to join our team at the historic Broadway Hospital. This full time position is Monday-Friday days with one week on call every nine weeks.

Summary

The Journeyman or Apprentice Plumber inspects, assembles, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain to ensure continuous operation of drainage, piping and stationary equipment according to specifications or plumbing codes.

Job Description

Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems in a healthcare facility. They ensure safe water supply, proper drainage, and the functionality of essential systems. This role requires following strict health and safety regulations to prevent contamination and maintain a sterile environment. Sewer main drain cleaning experience preferred.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance:
    Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.), pipes, and related equipment. 
  • Emergency Repairs:
    Respond to leaks, pipe failures, and other plumbing emergencies to minimize disruptions to patient care. 
  • Water and Drainage Systems:
    Ensure the proper functioning of water supply, drainage, and sewage systems. 
  • Compliance:
    Follow national, state, and local plumbing codes and regulations. 
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    Perform regular inspections and maintenance to prevent issues and ensure optimal system performance. 
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. 
  • Collaboration:
    Work with other trades and departments to coordinate plumbing work and ensure smooth facility operations. 
  • Safety:
    Adhere to all health and safety guidelines related to plumbing work in a hospital setting. 

Qualifications

A four to five year apprenticeship or equivalent on the job training is required.



Journeyman Plumbing License for applicable states where work is performed preferred. May require applicable City license. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
