AP Plumbing is seeking an experienced Plumbing Construction Field Supervisor for their Syracuse, NY location. This position will oversee plumbing installation and related activities on commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure all plumbing work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with codes, specifications, and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical plumbing knowledge combined with excellent team management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of journeyman plumbers, apprentices, and subcontractors on active construction sites
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily plumbing activities to meet project schedules and milestones
  • Ensure all installations (rough-in, top-out, fixtures, underground, gas lines, etc.) comply with plumbing codes, blueprints, and project specifications
  • Conduct regular Pre and post-project site inspections and quality control checks
  • Coordinate with other trades (electrical, HVAC, general contractors) to avoid conflicts and maintain workflow efficiency
  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment inventory; track deliveries and prevent shortages
  • Enforce safety protocols and company policies; conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Identify and resolve field issues, change orders, and technical problems promptly
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, material logs, and as-built documentation
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate plumbing crew members
  • Interface with inspectors, clients, and project managers regarding progress and compliance
  • Ensure proper testing (pressure, leak, etc.) and commissioning of plumbing systems


Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required, plumbing trade school or apprenticeship program preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on plumbing experience in construction, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Valid Journeyman or Master Plumber License required. Backflow prevention certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, or local equivalents), blueprints, and construction practices
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with commercial, multi-family, or industrial plumbing projects preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

  • Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA 30 preferred)

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 75lbs

The starting salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000 annyally. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
