Our client is seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join a collaborative preconstruction team specializing in commercial plumbing projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated estimator who enjoys developing competitive bids, collaborating with project teams, and helping deliver successful projects from concept through construction.
You'll play a key role in the estimating and preconstruction process by reviewing plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and supporting project managers throughout the bidding process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate plumbing estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop complete bid packages.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Coordinate equipment and material selection, pricing, and procurement.
- Prepare equipment submittals and project documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Assist with proposal preparation, pricing strategy, and project budgeting.
- Review project scope, identify value engineering opportunities, and resolve scope discrepancies.
- Support project handoff and preconstruction planning after contract award.
- Provide technical support throughout the estimating and bidding process.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial plumbing industry experience (10+ years preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of plumbing estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, construction methods, and estimating principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing competitive bids.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
