Our client, specializes in large-scale plumbing work on major construction sites, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Plumbing Project Coordinator to manage and coordinate DOB permits, filings, inspections, and approvals. This role is essential to keeping projects compliant, on schedule, and moving efficiently from startup through execution.
The ideal candidate has experience navigating NYC DOB processes, coordinating with expeditors, and supporting field operations in a fast-paced construction plumbing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all DOB-related processes, including permit applications, filings, and sign-offs for plumbing projects
- Coordinate with expeditors to ensure timely submission, tracking, and approval of permits
- Schedule inspections and communicate timelines and updates to field teams and project managers
- Track plumbing equipment submittals and approvals to ensure alignment with project schedules
- Review and interpret plumbing drawings, construction plans, markups, and amendments
- Maintain organized records of filings, approvals, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Communicate clearly with general contractors, clients, expeditors, and internal teams
- Support all phases of construction, with a strong focus on pre-construction and DOB compliance (Phase One)
- Identify potential delays or compliance issues and proactively resolve them
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction plumbing coordination, preferably within plumbing or mechanical trades
- Hands-on experience with NYC DOB permits, filings, and approvals
- Familiarity with inspections, sign-offs, and equipment submittal processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plumbing plans, and markups
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow through
