Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Plumbing Channel & Service Manager to lead and grow our plumbing division. This role combines operational leadership with sales and service management. The Plumbing Channel & Service Manager will be responsible for implementing scalable processes, developing the plumbing team, and ensuring financial and performance goals are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operational Leadership
o Implement and scale a call-by-call plumbing approach through the use of channel managers.
o Develop and revise pay structures for plumbers and installers to drive performance.
o Oversee call assignments in collaboration with the plumbing dispatcher.
o Create and manage the on-call schedule for plumbers and installers.
o Monitor and maintain the plumbing price book for accuracy and competitiveness.
o Establish plumbing processes and systems that support scalability and future growth.
o Monitor the installation board to ensure job flow and scheduling efficiency.
o Oversee van stock and consignment inventory in partnership with the warehouse manager.
· Team Development & Culture
o Lead daily morning meetings with plumbers covering sales training, process adherence, and trade-related education.
o Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture within the plumbing department.
o Assist plumbers with diagnosing jobs and handling customer relations as needed.
o Conduct one-on-ones with plumbers and installers to provide feedback, coaching, and accountability.
o Handle disciplinary actions and performance management when required.
o Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of new plumbers and installers.
· Sales & Financial Performance
o Ensure plumbers consistently follow the call process, including detailed job notes, accurate descriptions, and photo documentation.
o Audit service and install jobs to ensure quality, compliance, and profitability.
o Monitor and drive high closing ratios (50–75%, depending on call type).
o Maintain strong gross profit margins (50–55%).
o Monitor material costs to remain under 25% of sales price.
o Monitor labor costs to remain under 25% of sales price.
o Ensure timely, professional, and correct installation practices.
o Attend and contribute to weekly financial and performance review meetings.
o Ensure proper coverage of plumbers and installers across all shifts.
