Plumb Smart Plumbing is hiring an experienced Residential Plumbing Service Technician / Plumbing Mechanic to support our growing residential and custom home division across North Carolina.
We are actively seeking a highly skilled plumbing mechanic with strong experience running residential drain lines (DWV systems), rough-ins, and full system installs. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and install residential plumbing systems

Install and run residential drain piping (DWV systems), including rough-ins and tie-ins
- Perform plumbing service calls, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Install fixtures, water heaters, and plumbing components
- Read and interpret basic plumbing layouts and plans
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and team members
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Follow all plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of residential plumbing experience (service or new construction)
- Proven experience running residential drain pipes (DWV systems) preferred
- Ability to work independently and complete jobs efficiently
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in typical plumbing environments
Preferred Skills (Highly Valued)

Experience with new construction plumbing and remodels

Ability to run full drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems independently
- Experience with water heater installation (tank and tankless)
- Knowledge of residential plumbing codes in North Carolina
